The Steiger Cropper is a breed well worth your attention. It has several features that make the breed very special. However, to get to know these special points, you have to experience this breed in your own loft, because you will not see the Breeds real character at a show.

FLORIDA STATE FAIR

February 2011

What a great time and a wonderful show of pigeons presentations at the Fair. Hundreds of persons visited the pigeon exhibit, asking lots of questions, touching, holding the birds. The children and the adults were happy and in awe in holding a pigeon for the first time.

BRAKEL AND

BRAKEL BANTAM

The Brakel is a light breed, although quite large. With their barred markings they are very attractive birds-eyecatching both in the yard and the show pen. They can be kept in pens, but they prefer to free-range, which is the way they have been kept around Belgian farmhouses since ancient times.

PIGEONS IN INDIA

Several pigeon breeds are exclusively found in India. The unique feature of the Indian pigeon breeds is that they are extremely beautiful and also fly very well; the majority of the breeds are High flyer Pigeons. In India there are very few fancy pigeon breeders and shows are not conducted because there are no clubs dedicated to fancy pigeons.

OUR MOORHEN CHICK

Our oldest son brought it with him .... He and his girlfriend had noticed the chick  loudly squeaking walking along a cycle-track. Fortunately, they have common sense and at first left the baby bird where it was. But in the evening, on their way back home, they found the chick was still walking around loudly squeaking. They looked around but could not find a mom or not even any other birds and thus decided to take the chick home.

CONCERNING POULTRY

What is wrong with that egg?

Only once in a thousand times it happens that there is something wrong with the egg. Some of these occurrences are very hard to explain and will certainly not happen each time your hen lays an egg. Others can be explained and in some cases - when your hens regularly lay ‘bad’ eggs, we hope you will find a reason - and solution - in this article.

THE HISTORY OF THE

FRILLBACK PIGEON

in the United Kingdom

Exactly where the Frillback originated will probably never be known, however the Orient is commonly accepted as the area of origin. One unquestionable fact is that the Frillback is one of the oldest breeds. Frillbacks were being bred in England as early as the first half of the eighteenth century.
